Job Summary

The Education Specialist supports the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of simulation-based educational programs and activities within the Clinical Simulation Program (CSP). This role partners with faculty, staff, and institutional stakeholders to create engaging, high-quality simulation-based and technology-enhanced learning experiences that support clinical skill development, patient safety, team performance, and healthcare quality. The individual contributes to curriculum development, instructional design, learner assessment, and program evaluation, while supporting the use of simulation technologies, audiovisual systems, and educational resources to enhance program effectiveness. The Education Specialist also supports accreditation activities, educational program administration, and the use of educational data to inform continuous improvement and innovation in simulation-based education.

Job Duties

  • Tracks, facilitates, collaborates and/or coordinates learners in areas of education across the health system.
  • Participates in the onboarding of learners into system as needed.
  • Assists with the development of curriculum for both learners and faculty.
  • Oversees the implementation of educational activities, including activity registration, program implementation, coordination of events, and overall program evaluation.
  • Coordinates with Educational departments (UME, GME, HPE, CPD, GEMS) on educational activities, when needed.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of the faculty evaluation, learner evaluation, and program evaluation system.
  • Serves as administrative liaison with educational leaders/faculty/staff to assure implementation and maintenance of learning activities and the learning environment.
  • Interfaces with learners, teaching faculty, and administrators to assist with accreditation, documentation, and evaluation efforts for educational programs as needed.
  • Participates in budget development and implementation as needed.
  • Represents educational content area on assigned internal and external committees.

Position Details

In addition to supporting the implementation and delivery of simulation-based curricula, the Education Specialist is expected to develop proficiency in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-fidelity simulation equipment and technology systems. The position also supports the preparation, setup, operation, and organization of low-fidelity simulation equipment, task trainers, and educational resources used in simulation activities. Occasional travel throughout the Northeast region will be required to support simulation-based education programs, training sessions, and related activities.
