Caring for your health and well-being

You want to live your healthiest life — and we want to help by supporting you when you’re sick or injured. Here, you’ll find a range of benefits to cover your physical and mental health, as well as several ways to help you save on medical costs.

  • Three medical plan options: Choose from three medical plans — Geisinger Enhanced, Geisinger Value and Geisinger Essential — and pay only for the coverage you need or want.
  • Dental and vision coverage: Dental coverage should make you smile. That’s why ours includes orthodontics for children and adults.  We also offer free annual eye exams and savings on contacts, prescription glasses and more.
  • Free mental health counseling: Through GuidanceResources®, we offer six free therapy visits per year. They’ll even help you schedule appointments. Plus, take advantage of our self-help therapy tool.
  • Paid time-off: Generous PTO packages let you take the time you need to travel, rest and invest in your well-being.
  • Short-term disability*: This company-paid benefit pays you a portion of your salary if you get sick or injured and have to miss work for more than seven calendar days. A “buy up” option is also available if you want to purchase additional coverage.
  • Long-term disability: This company-paid benefit covers a disability that continues for more than six months.
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs): These accounts allow you to use pre-tax dollars for certain healthcare expenses.
  • MyHealth Rewards: You’ll earn a $600 financial incentive for completing the program and another $600 if your spouse or domestic partner does, too.

Supporting your family

Your family is a priority, so you’ll find a suite of benefits to protect your loved ones, including same-sex and opposite-sex spouses, domestic partners and children and stepchildren. And if you need it, we’ll also support your growing family and help you find competent, reliable and trustworthy caregivers.

  • Fertility coverage: The Geisinger Enhanced and Geisinger Value plans provide coverage for intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF).
  • Adoption assistance: You’ll have up to $5,000 toward the cost of a finalized adoption.
  • Paid parental leave: Parents can enjoy paid leave following the arrival of a child through birth, adoption, legal guardianship or foster care placement.
  • Free membership to Try a membership with subsidized Backup Care for your children, pets or aging parents.
  • Free referrals for family care: Referral specialists from GuidanceResources can help you find trusted providers for childcare, eldercare and more.
  • Paid military leave: Members of the armed forces are eligible for paid military training leave.
  • Free legal help for family matters: Licensed attorneys provided by GuidanceResources can answer legal questions about family matters such as adopting a child or navigating a divorce.

  • Tuition reimbursement: We offer up to $3,000 annually in tuition reimbursement for undergraduate classes and up to $5,000 annually for graduate classes.
