Job Summary

Responsible for independently managing central administrative duties associated with grant and contract administration, including activities that provide guidance on the management of research studies. Provide comprehensive sponsored project support to principal investigators, study teams, and administrative staff, develop training and educational materials for staff, cultivate relationships with internal staff and external research sponsors; and serve as a liaison to internal department leadership teams to identify and resolve research barriers associated with carrying out research objectives within the system.

Job Duties

  • Guides Principal Investigators (PIs), study teams, and department administrative staff in the preparation, submission, review, and management of sponsored project documents.
  • Under the direction of department manager or designee, assists with review and negotiation of various contracts and agreements.
  • Oversees preparation and review of various documents required for regulatory and system compliance.
  • Responsible for maintaining processes related to grant management databases to ensure accurate data input.
  • Manages monthly/ad hoc reports for department.
  • Independently promotes collaboration with study teams and assists with managing timelines.
  • Autonomously manages review of research documents and provides guidance to research administration and study teams with day-to-day sponsored project management.
  • Assist with development and implementation of training materials and programs for department staff and well as the research enterprise.
  • Serves as a liaison between Geisinger and key stakeholders in research; both internal and external.
  • Including providing timely responses via phone and email, tracking progress to ensure timely and accurate process, providing feedback and problem solves to resolve research barriers, and facilitating collaborative relationships with both internal and external research contributors.
  • Demonstrates comprehension and understanding of federal regulations and guidelines of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCP), and the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH); and seeks knowledge growth of aforementioned regulations.
