Manager Audit
Job Summary
Serves as the primary audit contact for providing direct, proactive financial support in the review and audit of the critical business processes, performance analyses and operational/strategic financial analyses for all hospital and professional revenue for Geisinger. Responsible for leading the objective appraisal and evaluation of internal control system and business processes, providing assurance in the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial information, and identifying areas of financial and operational process improvement.
Job Duties
- Reviews and evaluates the reliability and integrity of financial and operating information and the means used to identify, measure, classify, and report such information.
- Reviews and evaluates the processes established to ensure compliance with Geisinger and RM policies, procedures, objectives, contractual requirements, laws, and regulations.
- Responsible for conducting the examinations and objective appraisal of the adequacy and effectiveness of RM’s internal controls and the quality and integrity of performance.
- Responsible for conducting examinations and evaluations of RM business processes for efficiency and effectiveness and identifying areas of financial and operational process improvements.
- Responsible for the administration of the SOX RM Internal Controls Program by conducting quarterly audits of Key Controls as identified in the SOX RM Patient Service Revenue and Receivables Narrative and by modifying the Narrative for changes in RM processes and related internal controls.
- Responsible for the review, evaluation, and development of internal controls for acquisitions and mergers and Geisinger integration of these controls into RM operational processes.
- Responsible for the management of the RM Auditing Department ensuring that all financial and operational process audits are completed in an accurate manner and on a timely basis.
- Directly supervises the RM Staff Auditor to ensure timely completion of audits in compliance with GAAS and GAAPResponsible for the coordination and provision of information for audit requests and responses for Internal Audit and External Auditors.
- Determines the audit plan and program of examination for the assigned audit areas.
- Supervises the development of the test objectives and test procedures in the audit program and the execution of the program to validate the effectiveness and efficiency of controls.
- Obtains, analyzes and appraises evidentiary data and other available information as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency of performance of the assigned areas being audited.
- Prepares work papers showing the results of the assigned areas being audited in accordance with GAAS.
- Prepares formal written audit reports and follow-up documents expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment and compliance standards.
- Appraises the adequacy of corrective action taken by management to improve the findings noted in an audit engagement through performing assigned follow-up audit engagements.
