Job Summary

While performing all aspects of the Registered Nurse Inpatient position of providing treatment and care to the specific age of patients served, this position will assess the developmental needs for staff and will plan, organize, perform, and creates educational programs or in-services to address those needs. Coordinates patient care and interaction of staff. Serves as primary support and resource for staff and patients and assists in serving as unit trainer and preceptor in collaboration with others. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient and family experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Unit Location: AGP4

Job Duties

  • Performs all aspects of the Registered Nurse Inpatient position providing treatment and care to the age of patients served.
  • Serves as primary support and resource for staff and patients and assists in serving as unit trainer and preceptor in collaboration with others.
  • Collaborate in the development of innovated educational materials for staff to support in-services presented to staff, by serving as the orientee's mentor, coach, and preceptor, completing of new orientees' orientation paperwork, reviewing orientees progress weekly with Registered Nurse Clinical Team Coordinator.
  • Identifies developmental needs for staff and communicates information to the Nursing Professional Development Generalist or Specialist, Registered Nurse Clinical Team Coordinator, and Operations Manager.
  • Submits necessary documentation to Operations Manager, of performance in the Career Enhancement Program as part of the Career Enhancement Program application process, and annually, prior to performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

Position Details

AGP4 is a 27 bed unit that has a major focus on the neurosciences. Neurosurgery patients can include craniotomies, cervical and lumbar surgeries, as well as brain and spinal tumors.  The focus in neurology can vary from stroke/TIA’s to neuromuscular disorders, Guillain-Barré syndrome, MS and chronic migraines. 

There is a 6-bed epilepsy unit that utilizes continuous EEG monitoring for our seizure patients and their needs. 

The nursing staff is also flexible enough to navigate and take care of other medical/surgical and telemetry patients. This patient population can range from chronic COPD and CHF patients to GI Bleed, orthopedic, general surgery and trauma patients.

Schedule is 0.9 FTE (36 hours). Rotation. Every other weekend/Every other holiday rotation.

Education

Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required), Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Preferred)

Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania; Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
