System Support Specialist
Job Summary
Provides leadership support in ensuring the quality and accuracy of the data entered and maintained in applicable support services systems. Promotes and develops continuous improvement of systems and operations through development of strong data analytics, process workflows and key financial reporting. Provides support during the review, development and implementation of assigned support services systems. Responsible for the ongoing operational support and processing of assigned support services system applications.
Job Duties
- Develops and maintains, on a current basis, functional and technical expertise in assigned areas of support services systems and business operations.
- Maintains understanding of data fields utilized, data flow, system limitations, and anticipated enhancements.
- Maintains records of training programs and program effectiveness.
- Ensures accuracy and validity of data used in all reports and analysis for applicable systems.
- Lead and actively participates on project teams with responsibility for specific task assignments including definition of system functionality, system capability testing, defining reporting requirements, and developing reports.
- Participates in planning, testing, and documenting application.
- Manages duties pertaining to major functional areas, including project management, training and documentation and procedure manual development and maintenance.
- Participates in the definition of user system requirements and provides recommendations to management concerning the selection, development/design and implementation of system features to satisfy requirements.
- Investigates and analyzes complex data sources and develops reports to integrate, extract and present data for best results.
- Performs analysis and creates graphical presentations of data results, as requested, for added value to reporting.
- Provides direction and education as necessary to system users and staff members.
- Coordinates work of designated system functions including but not limited to scheduling, testing, decision making and integration with operations.
- Assumes the responsibility for assigned support service system(s) in the absence of the department leader.
- Performs process review analysis, including documenting current process and designing new processes to take advantage of technology and/or modified service delivery mechanisms.
- Serves as liaison with system vendors to troubleshoot problems, escalate critical issues and monitor and prioritize issues.
- Responsible for oversight of request for vendor payments of assigned support services system(s) fees.
- Serves as a system administrator / backup system administrator for assigned support service system(s).
