Research Specialist (LPN or Medical Assistant)
Job Summary
Serves in an advanced responsibility to assess the appropriateness of patients for participation in tissue bank protocols, meets with patients in the clinic and hospital to collect multiple data points required for the tissue bank protocols.
Job Duties
- Coordinates the study protocols to determine subject eligibility, recruitment, screening, enrollment, follow-up and retention of eligible subjects according to protocol requirements.
- Implements subject recruitment plans including contacting and interviewing subjects pre and post-surgery, collaborating with surgeons, screening, consenting and enrolling.
- Utilizes software to document and track study related data points.
- Abstracts data from electronic medical record and enters information into protocol data base.
- Coordinates the services of lab to ensure proper scheduling and awareness of bio-banking patients and procedures.
- Serves as a liaison for lab and operatorating room to ensure appropriate procedures are in place.
- Obtains, prepares and processes tissue specimens, blood and urine from the Operating Room according to a prescribed protocol in a timely and precise manner.
- Ensures accurate and timely data entry.
- Responsible for data analysis of the enrolled subjects and the required data elements.
- Responsible for data maintenance and adept knowledge of the software applications.
- Accuracy and strict adherence to all Indivumed protocols.
