Supervisor Logistics- Full Time/ Days
Job Summary
Supervises the operations of assigned Logistics staff, resource, and processes. Directly accountable for the performance of Logistics Services, including the coordination and interaction of clinical areas with Support Service departments to deliver a high level of customer service to the clinical staff. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations regarding delivery, preparation, use, cleanup, and storage of most supplies, medications, equipment, and other non-staff resources for clinical areas.
Job Duties
- Supervises the daily operations of Logistics Services by observing staff performance and workflow.
- Verifies that each responsible employee's assignments are being performed thoroughly and effectively.
- Oversees the proper management of the resources for an assigned clinical area, including procurement, transport, storage, preparation, cleaning, and maintenance assistance. Resources may include any supplies, non-controlled medication, linen, equipment, or other materials required for patient care or for other required activities .
- Maintains a current understanding of the supplies, equipment, services, other resources, and operations provided by the Support Services departments. Assures timely and effective response to all department and clinical unit requests and requirements.
- Monitors and responds to activity and issues. Delegates tasks and responsibilities to subordinate personnel as needed while assuring proper utilization of human resources and supplies.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining performance metrics which accurately indicate the performance of staff and utilization of resources for assigned work areas. Develops new metrics as appropriate or requested by leadership. Recommends process improvements to leadership, actively works with staff to implement the improvements and monitors progress. Utilizes metrics to drive and evaluate improvement projects. Empowers employees to bring forward their process improvement ideas.
- Works to promote a team environment and open communication within the work area. Acts as a mentor for employees. Participates on interdepartmental teams as needed.
- Supervises all employee relations activities and actively participates in resolving employee problems and conflicts as appropriate for all assigned departments. Consults with Manager when necessary. Contributes in the hiring and termination of employees for all assigned departments.
- Ensures new employee orientation and training is completed for all departments assigned. Ensures all employee evaluations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Develops and maintains disaster/contingency plans to help ensure supply acquisition during emergencies. Understands and ensures staff is prepared to respond. Assures that all supplies are handled in accordance with Infection Control Policy and Procedures.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required), Bachelor's Degree- (Preferred)Experience
