Community Programs Specialist, Geisinger Health Plan (Central Pennsylvania resident)
Job Summary
Territory - Central Pennsylvania, including Centre, Lycoming and Mifflin counties. This role is responsible for building relationships in the community and presenting at in person events throughout the assigned territory.
Job Duties
Plans and executes informational meetings, social activities and community outreach programs. Promotes the Geisinger brand and legacy in the community in order to foster brand trust and social engagement. Supports physician panel growth, activity calendar development and open house events at various sites. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with community partners and clinicians for the benefit of Geisinger programs and clinical enterprise services. Performs hands-on outreach activities or placed in a host clinic site to take on similar duties, specific to patient services. Meets with both current and prospective patients and members in group settings to educate and inform about Geisinger.
- Engages and provides education about Geisinger programs for various audiences.
- Works with department leadership on strategy development for information meetings, meeting implementation and execution.
- Establishes and manages meeting facilities based on strategic plans.
- Provides patient check in coverage as needed.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of outreach strategies and plans in support of meeting initiatives, including working with management on the development and approval of product presentations as well as collateral and marketing support materials such as press releases, brochures, posters, fliers, and newsletters.
- Understands and follows all Federal (CMS) and State regulations around marketing, sales and enrollment as it applies to line of business being promoted.
- Studies, tests and certifies on all required and mandated training.
- Tracks participant activity at meetings and regularly reports results to management.
- Tracks and monitors individual meeting and activity budgets, including submission of receipts and other outreach activity expenditures to team leadership as required.
- Promotes Geisinger by identifying and targeting groups of prospective members and posting and distributing information to potential members informing them of upcoming informational meetings, by gaining insights and expertise on services offered.
- Represents Geisinger at health fairs, conferences, workshops, speaking engagements, community events and other public activities as appropriate to promote programming and services.
- Develops and cultivates relationships to support objectives including, but not limited to, establishing new referral relationships and maintaining strong existing relationships and partnerships with various community agencies.
- Develops leads within the community for follow-up with Geisinger staff.
