Job Summary

Responsible for supporting inpatient and outpatient clinical research trials as a study coordinator. Serves in an expanded role to assess the appropriateness of patients for clinical research protocols. Sees patients in the clinic and hospital to collect data required for the research protocols.

Job Duties

• Coordination and implementation of clinical trials.
• Assists in preparation of submissions for Institutional Review Board consideration.
• Responsible for conduct of the clinical trial, including but not limited to recruitment, screening, enrollment, follow-up, and retention of eligible subjects according to protocol requirements.
• Implements subject recruitment plans including contacting and interviewing subjects, collaborating with physicians, screening, consenting, and enrolling.
• Document and track study-related administrative, financial, and patient related activities in electronic system.
• Management of patient care in the context of the study protocol with oversight from a licensed healthcare provider.
• Participates in the informed consent process prior to and throughout patient participation in clinical trials.
• Arranges study visits and provides instructions.
• With oversight from a licensed healthcare provider, monitors research patients in outpatient and inpatient settings for adverse experiences and compliance with study protocols.
• With oversight from a licensed healthcare provider, administers and monitors investigational drugs and devices as directed by the investigator and clinician.
• With oversight from a licensed healthcare provider, administers appropriate scales or other clinical measurements as needed.
• Serves as a liaison.
• Provides education to subjects and family on specific research protocols, potential risks, benefits, and reporting of health events.
• Serves as a liaison between the principal investigator and the study sponsor as indicated or directed for adapting a multi-center protocol to the specific local environment.
• Participates in sponsor initiated study site audits.

• Occasional travel between Northeast sites- GWV, GCMC, GSWB will be required

Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) within 3 years - Default Issuing Body
