Radiology Image Librarian - GWV - Full Time - Days
Job Summary
Retrieves and prepares radiographic imaging studies requested by patients, physicians, medical facilities, attorneys, etc.
Job Duties
- Receives and prioritizes requests (through phone, fax, mail and in-person inquiries) for information from patients’ imaging.
- Checks for properly executed HIPAA-compliant authorization prior to release of information.
- Prepares and sends radiology batch reports using best practice guidelines to ensure accuracy in correspondence with external providers.
- Prepares requested medical imaging studies by reproduction and preparation of digital media or film.
- Ensures and maintains quality control of processed digital media.
- Lends and mails original films to medical facilities and physicians to ensure continuation of patient care.
- Obtains, purges and files x-rays jackets as necessary to ensure maintenance of physical film library as well as adhere to applicable state and federal laws.
- Disposes of films and digital media as per applicable policies and state and federal laws.
- Maintains film file office supply inventory.
