RN - Registered Nurse Coordinator Bone Marrow Transplant

Job Duties
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of patient care related to the bone marrow transplant patients in collaboration with the transplanting physician and the bone marrow transplant interdisciplinary team. Establishes professional and working rapport with patients, families, referring physicians and support to the operation. Oversees the maintenance of complete and accurate patient records/data and completes patient reports to the Bone Marrow Transplant Registry.
This role is 40 hours weekly; hours 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required, plus 2 years of RN work experience.
Required Certifications:
Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification courses within 3 months of hire.
Oncology Certified Nurse required after completion of required hours - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC)

Job Duties:
- Coordinates the bone marrow transplant process including initial screening, intake visit, pre transplant assessment, stem cell collection and transplant.
- Maintains complete and accurate patient records and data and completes patient reports to the Bone Marrow Transplant Registry.
- Effectively maintains The Bone Marrow Transplant Programs Quality Management Program ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory bodies standards and requirements.
- Responsible for review of the policies and procedures set forth by the Bone Marrow Transplant Program.
- Provides input in development of budgetary needs for the transplant program.
- Interacts with insurance providers to be a patient advocate for transplant reimbursement and billing issues.
- Effectively engages and teaches those who provide care to the Bone Marrow Transplant patient population.
- Acts as mentor, teacher and coach to others; actively uses the team performance management process.
- Motivates others to seek and participate in developmental opportunities.
- Ensures all required quality improvement and quality control documentation is completed for assigned sections.
