Job Summary

The Administrative Team Coordinator RN is responsible for developing, initiating, and supporting improvements, on the unit level, that facilitate the delivery of high quality, safe and cost-effective patient care.

Job Duties

  • Participates in the formulation of nursing policies and goals as well as policies affecting other departments.

  • Communicates and interprets policies, procedures and regulations to patients, visitors and staff members, as required.

  • Promotes and supports concepts of positive guest relations.

  • Sets expectation for evidence based practice incorporated with development procedures.

  • Fosters an effective working relationship with the Medical Director and Physician Liaison of the inpatient unit.

  • Develops positive and proactive employee relations.

  • Serves as a resource for unit issues, mentors staff, delegates actions as appropriate and creates an environment of participation.

  • Facilitates attendance of assigned personnel at internal and external educational programs.

  • Collaborates with Clinical Nurse Educators to develop employee orientation, continuing education and competencies.

  • Provides direct supervision to assigned personnel, assists with orientation and integration of new employees.

  • Conducts performance appraisals, monitors absenteeism, orders supplies, scheduling 24 hour staffing, patient and bed triage where appropriate.

  • Assists with addressing performance problems initiating the disciplinary process as appropriate.

  • Design and implement strategic operational plans related to changes in the healthcare environment.

  • These plans may include capital, clinical, financial, Human Resources, and IS quality and service plans.

  • Demonstrates fiscal accountability by managing assignments to meet worked hour statistics.

  • Develops and promotes service standards that foster a customer sensitive environment, using a proactive approach.

  • Measures performance against standards and seeks team commitment to exceed standards.

  • Resolves patient and customer related issues in a timely manner.

  • Conducts leadership rounds on the unit.

  • Proactively reviews the units and systems risk exposure to develop educational activities for employees and associates that will reduce liability.

  • Ensures all incidents, serious events, and sentinel events are reported to PI and addressed in a timely manner.

Position Details

The Inpatient Nurse Resource Department at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA is looking for an experienced RN to take on the role of Administrative Team Coordinator RN.

As the Administrative Team Coordinator RN, you will supervise inpatient nursing and nursing support staffing at Geisinger Medical Center Danville, Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, and Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital. Your responsibilities will include managing the administrative operations of the Nurse Resource Department, scheduling employees, assigning work tasks, and collaborating with recruitment for candidate interviews.

Hiring Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a licensed role

  • BSN or proof of current enrollment in BSN program

  • Prior and/or current related administrative nursing experience is preferred, but not required

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Days, 40- hours/weekly

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the region’s only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, women’s health (in the Women’s Pavilion), oncology and orthopedics.
