Associate Director Pharmacy Informatics
Job Summary
Responsible for delivering solutions to pharmacy and clinical operations that support the delivery of patient care, specifically related to pharmacy aspects of the care delivery. The pharmacy informatician plays an integral role in translating pharmacy operation’s needs to information technology solutions. They do this through all phases of the technology and software development lifecycle including analysis, build, testing, training, and support. Specifically, the informaticist is responsible for providing clinical pharmacist insight and guidance into the system design.
Job Duties
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of assigned and related application(s); Proficiency in navigating through the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Demonstrates critical thinking and analysis skills to identify and evaluate wholistic solutions.
- Remains current with clinical pharmacy work process and changes to facilitate the alignment of the IT systems with those processes.
- Understand the legal and operation needs surrounding pharmacy practice and works to develop processes to address those needs.
- Facilitate and actively contributes in meetings by being an engaged listener and offering both feedback and input.
- Communicates effectively with peers, informaticians, stakeholders, project teams, and leadership. Provides regular updates regarding work status and demonstrates appropriate issue escalation.
- Completes system build and documentation in accordance with department guidelines and in adherence to change management policy.
- Produces documentation including current and future state workflows, pros/cons, gap analysis, needs assessments, design specifications, build documentation, test plans, project plans, status reports and transitionary documentation.
- Adheres to best practices regarding information security.
- Provides remote and/or on-site support as needed to end-users.
- Participates in system testing including scenario-based, integrated, and parallel testing.
- Provides feedback on training materials.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Travel may be required. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
