Dental Hygienist Team Lead
Job Summary
Assists in directing the daily activities of auxiliary personnel and performs duties of Dental Hygienist. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range of their assigned clinical area.
Job Duties
- Performs the essential duties and responsibilities of a Dental Hygienist.
- Coordinates the activities of assigned auxiliary personnel to assure effective and efficient delivery of services.
- Schedules for auxiliary personnel when appropriate.
- Interviews candidates and makes recommendations for hiring as necessary.
- Assures that delegated duties are performed.
- Provides input for performance evaluations.
- Oversees general equipment maintenance and notifies equipment repair personnel in coordination with the clinic supervisor.
- Assures an adequate stock of storeroom supplies in coordination with the clinic supervisor.
- Assists the clinic supervisor in planning, decision making, assuring the clinic is Joint Commission and Department of Health compliant, and other designated tasks.
- Ensures the monthly expiration checklists and all other checklists are current in the whole clinic.
- The team lead will also be responsible to ensure all monthly audits are completed and results are given to the clinic supervisor, and to remind and encourage everyone else to be conscientious in this matter.
- The team lead will be responsible in all ways with Joint Commission and Department of Health compliance.
- Maintains current professional license and technical skills with continuing education and mandatory in-house training programs and performance improvement activities as applicable.
- Attends and participates in appropriate monthly meetings.
- When time permits, they monitor their own schedules and communicates with scheduling services to ensure cancellations and open slots are filled.
- Assists in other areas as appropriate and as time permits.
