Director Finance Partnering Diagnostic Medicine Institute (Pennsylvania resident)
Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to join our Diagnostic Medicine Institute as the Director of Finance Partnering. This role oversees the financial management of our Radiology and Laboratory Medicine service lines across all Geisinger hospitals and outpatient clinics. The Director will be responsible for both technical and professional aspects of financial operations, including managing Senior Finance Partners within each service line. Ideal candidates will bring strong leadership and management experience, a strategic mindset, and preferably a background in healthcare or similarly complex industries. Job Duties
The Director of Finance Partnering will support strategic and operational financial leadership for specific Entities and/or Institutes of Geisinger Health. This position is actively involved in development of the operating and capital forecasts, the long-range financial model, business plan financial models, monthly operating reviews, financial improvement initiatives, promotion of financial and operational benchmarking, and assures compliance with financial standards and procedures. This role is responsible to develop high performing team by coordinating efforts of assigned Senior Finance and Finance Partners.
The position will be expected to be on site (Danville PA) in attendance and to present financials at quarterly Institute meetings.
- Facilitates the specific Entity or/Institute targeted quarterly forecasting, capital forecasting and long-range financial model goals in partnership with operational leadership. Works closely with Financial Planning in supporting key planning processes.
- Actively participates in the Entity/Institute’s month-end financial close review and analysis process including understanding trends in volume, revenue, expenses, and balance sheet activity. Assist with providing operational intelligence to incorporate into monthly close as well as assist in preparation of monthly close forecast.
- Facilitates a monthly operating review process for the respective operational areas including variance reporting and coordinates and supports development of remediation and corrective action plans. Works closely with operational leadership to mitigate all material variances to plan.
- Supports CFO and AVP in presentations to internal (operational leadership) parties.
- Stays informed of various external reporting requirements such as the Medicare Cost Report and 990 tax filings.
- Supports financial acumen education for corresponding Entity/Institute operational and executive teams.
- Promotes use of key financial management reporting tools such as monthly management, labor & non-labor productivity, and labor and non labor benchmarking reports for assigned Entities/Institutes.
- Works closely with operational leadership on financial performance improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve overall financial performance.
- Works closely with the financial planning, strategic planning, operational leadership, and others in development of business plans and retrospective financial reviews of those plans for assigned Entity/Institute.
- Supports the Entity or/Institute operational leadership with capital requests and prepares return on investment financial models to support these investments.
- Participates on rounding, committees, and other forums where leadership representation from finance may be required.
