Director School of Medical Imaging - GMC - Full Time - Days
Job Summary
The Director of the School of Medical Imaging provides management oversight to all current medical imaging programs within the school and will oversee development and implementation of new programs. The director will provide oversight to the Radiography, Sonography, and Nuclear Medicine Program Directors and will be directly responsible for managing the modality specialty programs and the radiologist assistant program. The director is responsible for planning and budgeting, course scheduling including space planning, evaluation of direct reports, program accreditation and compliance, and student recruitment.
Job Duties
- Lead departmental growth with respect to students, faculty, programs, resources, and academic quality
- Responsible for oversight of all program accreditations, compliance, and supporting activities.
- Create and facilitate the implementation of a strategic mission and vision that seeks to recruit a diverse student body, elevates student success through student retention, enhances departmental revenue and value through successful partnerships, and builds and enhances the reputation of the school.
- Ensures that clear, consistent course goals and objectives are established and met with periodic review and adjustment to align student needs and performance.
- Manage department finances and budgets in collaboration with VP of Radiology
- Provides annual performance reviews to direct reports
- Encourages mentorship of faculty to engage students in the classroom and during office hours; supports experiential learning activities.
- Manage assigned programs including teaching courses as required for the program.
- Ensures educational effectiveness by conducting evaluative studies of students, graduates, employers and registry exam pass rates to improve school outcomes.
- Assures that graduates are competent to manage the delivery of radiation or ultrasound diagnostic procedures and possess the knowledge, skills and attributes to provide safe, high quality patient care.

- Keep abreast of current technology relevant to instruction, advising, program area, and required institutional practices.
- Attend trainings, workshops, conferences, and professional meetings.
- Chairs the School of Medical Imaging Advisory Committee
- Collaborates with clinical site leadership to enhance the student clinical experience; encourages and facilitates student transition to professional employment ideally within Geisinger.

Education
Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required), Master's Degree-Related Field of Study (Required)Experience
