Job Duties
The Licensed Practical Nurse - Ambulatory Quality Coordinator implements and monitors quality programs, which includes the delivery of clinical and service improvement initiatives in support of quality performance requirements and accreditation activities. Coordinates the integration of the quality improvement plan requirements into cross-department performance improvement efforts. Is an integral member of the health care team who works to ensure safety, best practice, and high-quality standards of care are maintained across the continuum.
At least two (2) years of LPN work experience is required. Previous experience with quality improvement practices is preferred. Joint Commission/regulatory agency preparation and survey experience is helpful. This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, and 8 hours per day.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the theory and principles of clinical performance and quality improvement.
- Reviews and monitors occurrences, quality triggers and quality of care concerns observing for problems or patterns related to regulatory standards affecting the quality of care. Provides re-education as indicated related to occurrences identified.
- Collaborates with ambulatory professional development team to ensure effective orientation of ambulatory clinical staff regarding quality and regulatory requirements.
- Work with facility leadership to identify and monitor key processes and patient outcomes. Assists with and provides direction in developing measurements for Performance Improvement and evaluation activities.
- Provide direction for nursing operational leaders and nursing professional development on appropriate action planning.
- Assists in the preparation and coordination and actively participates in all ambulatory regulatory surveys. Coordinates the follow-up and education related to survey recommendations and requirements.
- Provide leadership in collaborative efforts with other directors and members of the leadership team to systematically plan, organize and implement quality related initiatives.
- Create and operationalize an appropriate clinical program related to quality for nursing services. Identifies, reviews, and prioritizes opportunities for improvement plans related to nursing sensitive indicators.
- Review and update nursing policy related to nursing quality. Develops strategic plans related to nursing quality across the enterprise.
- Represent nursing services in quality related forums to present quality data, improvement initiatives and other quality related activities.
- Collaborate with Nursing Excellence team members offering support for recognition programs related to quality data.
- Participates in quality-related shared governance activities.
