DANVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA (USA). Geisinger Laboratory Medicine is searching for a board-certified Molecular Pathologist to join the Department of Laboratory Medicine.
Job Duties
At a glance:
- Integrated pathology services within Geisinger practice in a sub-specialty model
- Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine academic appointment and research opportunities available
- Extensive panel of immunohistochemical stains and advanced ancillary testing including organ specific NGS testing performed in house
- Teaching responsibilities include medical students, pathology residency and well-established cytopathology fellowship program
- Annual volumes: approximately 98,000 surgical pathology cases, 45,000 cytopathology cases and more than 15 million laboratory tests
- Over 42,000 annual molecular tests in oncology, genetics, and infectious diseases.
- Over 4,000 next generation sequencing tests in oncology
- 44 pathologists and PhDs on staff.
- System clinical pathology call shared by ten pathologists/PhDs; remote call capability

Position Details
Requirements: Candidates should be board certified/eligible in Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP) and Clinical Pathology or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology and must be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania. Expertise in Next Generation Sequencing and clinical molecular analyses is required. Additional expertise in whole exome/genome sequencing, germ-line testing, circulating tumor DNA testing and additional subspecialty training (such as hematopathology, pediatric, liver, informatics) is highly desirable.
