MSK ATC Sonographer Senior - Orthopedics
Job Summary
Works with the MSK physician to provide athletic training clinical support and perform Musculoskeletal Ultrasounds. Assists in the management of the MSK Ultrasound program in ensuring continuous education, improvement and patient centered care.
Job Duties
- Preparespatientsforexamination,explains procedures,andperforms diagnosticultrasounds.
- Correlatespatient’sclinical historywiththetesttobeperformedunderthephysician’sorders.
- Selectspropertransducerfrequencyandstudytypeforperformanceoftheexamination.
- Assistsphysicianwithultrasoundguided procedures(injections,PRP,Prolotherapy,andTenex.
- Participateswithphysiciansindiagnosticimpression.
- Performsqualitycontrol testsofequipment andimmediatelynotifiesthetechnicalspecialistofirregularities.
- MaintainsImaging/Dataarchiving.
- CompletesUSexamintheUSexamintheEXOsystem.
- ImagelabelingandsupportingdocumentationinEPIC.
- Orientsandeducates newsonographerswithin theSportsMedicine FellowshipandOrthopaedicResidency.
- Educatespatientswithhomeexercise programsandguides themthrougheachexercisetoensureproper technique.
- PreparesmedicationsforinjectionsanddocumentsintheMARsystemwithinEPIC.
- Coordinates monthly ultrasound lectures amongst sports medicine and outlines topics and discussion.
- Monitors ultrasound volume to ensure appropriate allocation of resources
- Assists in monitoring ultrasound documentation and proper image capture
- Works directly with the MSK Ultrasound Physician Director to provide programmatic guidance on innovation and teaching
- Assists the Operations Director with strategic planning of new equipment, replacements, and program growth.
- Provides in-services with new MSK Sonographers and continuous education for all under those under MSK Sonographer job description.
- Documents ultrasound equipment malfunctions and calls service engineer when needed.

Position Details
Hours: 8:00am- 4:30pm
Required Experience: Two years of experience
Required Certifications: Must be Certified Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS), Certified Athletic Trainer and state license of PA, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.

Education
