Job Summary

Retrieves and prepares radiographic imaging studies requested by patients, physicians, medical facilities, attorneys, etc.

Job Duties

• Receives and prioritizes requests (through phone, fax, mail and in-person inquiries) for information from patients’ imaging.
• Checks for properly executed HIPAA-compliant authorization prior to release of information.
• Prepares and sends radiology batch reports using best practice guidelines to ensure accuracy in correspondence with external providers.
• Prepares requested medical imaging studies by reproduction and preparation of digital media or film.
• Ensures and maintains quality control of processed digital media.
• Lends and mails original films to medical facilities and physicians to ensure continuation of patient care.
• Obtains, purges and files x-rays jackets as necessary to ensure maintenance of physical film library as well as adhere to applicable state and federal laws.
• Disposes of films and digital media as per applicable policies and state and federal laws.
• Maintains film file office supply inventory.
