Vice President/Chief Revenue Officer
Job Summary
Position provides the centralized management for all Clinical Enterprise revenue cycle functions within Geisinger. The position directs, manages and implements programs to ensure efficient operations of Geisinger’s revenue management program in order to generate sufficient cash flow to support Geisinger operations and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, reducing and resolving all revenue management issues associated with hospital and professional accounts receivable.
Job Duties
- Manage all functions (hospital and professional) within the revenue cycle including patient access, coding, charge entry, hospital billing, professional billing accounts receivable resolution and reconciliation, administrative services, integrity, compliance, and physician credentialing.
- Insures cost effectiveness and organizational efficiency.
- Furthermore, this position provides strategic direction to these functions and how the functions in question inter-relate to the other functions within Geisinger and the Clinical Enterprise including Senior Management, Human Resources, Information Systems, Corporate Finance, Process Improvement, Customer Service, professional physician staff, and other areas.
- Communicates the departmental activities to senior management and to the management staff of Clinical Enterprise as it relates to cash flow, organizational profitability, customer service, accounts receivable results and revenue enhancement activities.
- Works in conjunction with other areas within Geisinger to insure coordinated activities with respect to all Geisinger, Clinical Enterprise and revenue cycle needs.
- Develops, implements and direct various quality initiatives to ensure continuous monitoring and improvements within the revenue cycle process.
- This includes managing an overall departmental operating and capital budget(s) within pre-determined limits and within Freedom-To-Act guidelines to ensure operational efficiencies and obtaining pre-determined performance targets.
- Other responsibilities include the facilitation of various technological initiatives in support of business process improvements.
- Establish new and innovated programs within the revenue cycle for all revenue cycle associates.
- This will also include the communication of all ongoing improvements relative to process improvement and employee development.
- Involved, when required, in the development of various revenue cycle and strategic plans.
- Assess and develop new business and for-profit business opportunities.
