Recreational Therapy Assistant
Job Summary
Works under the direction and supervision of Recreation Therapist to create, implement, lead and adapt activities to ensure participants have a positive experience in group and individual activities.
Job Duties
- Works in conjunction with the Recreation Therapist in planning, organizing, directing, and leading therapeutic activities for participants in large and small groups.
- Adapts activities to ensure that individual participants are successful in programs.
- Assists in the development of monthly activities calendar and daily activities schedule, ensuring schedule is posted.
- Documents daily attendance and notes progress and decline in program involvement by participants.
- Assists with the purchase, organization, and storage of recreational supplies.
- Maintains inventory and distribution of participant name tags with tags coded with information regarding level of assistance and support potential for wander, and dietary restrictions needed by participant.
- Collaborates with Personal Care Assistants assigned to activities and assists with personal care needs as needed to promote the safety and comfort of participants.

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)Experience
