AVP Emergency Services
Job Summary
Supports Emergency Medicine in strategic planning, operational efficiency and consistent delivery of daily operations. Responsible for designing and implementing programs in accordance with regulatory requirements according to Department of Health, Joint Commission and all other pertinent regulatory and accrediting agencies. As the AVP of Emergency Services, you will have the opportunity to work on complex initiatives that make better health easier for our communities. The successful candidate will collaborate with emergency departments across our service area, foster a team environment, and position Geisinger’s Emergency Services team as a top place to work.
Job Duties
- Assures the mission, goals and values of the system are maintained within Emergency Medicine operations and aligned with department initiatives.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory agency standards and accrediting bodies.
- Leads business and strategy development, and deployment of emergency medicine in conjunction with physician partner(s).
- Sets performance standards and ensures establishment and provides oversight of a methodology for continuous analysis and improvementof assigned areas
- Responsible for budget development and oversight.
- Establishes a working matrix relationship and effective communication with institute and service line leaders, System leadership, medical staff and other healthcare provider organizations as applicable. Recruits, selects and retains highly qualified professionals.
- Provide the leadership necessary to maintain a motivated, productive and highly skilled team through open communication and delegation of responsibilities and authority.
- Guides and directs subordinates in their personal and professional development. Leads and manages the business affairs of department including problem solving and performance standard development.
- Fosters and promotes a positive work environment focused on high quality care and built on the principles of teamwork, respect, collaboration and communication; supports personal growth, the development of people and employee engagement.
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Travel may be required. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Position Details
The successful candidate will have prior emergency department experience.
This position requires daily onsite work and regular rounding to Geisinger facilities.
