Job Duties

Geisinger’s Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic surgeon to join our esteemed team in the Wilkes Barre/Scranton region. With a legacy spanning over 100 years, Geisinger serves more than three million residents across central, south-central, and northeastern Pennsylvania. Our physician-led system includes nearly 24,000 employees, 1,600 employed physicians, nine hospital campuses, the Geisinger Health Plan, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, and two research centers.

As a Cardiothoracic surgeon at Geisinger, you will join a high-performing team of three cardiac surgeons in a well-established department. Our team handles a high volume of complex cases, including over 600 heart and TAVR procedures annually. You will be supported by a distinguished cardiology group offering a full range of services, including advanced electrophysiology, structural heart disease procedures, cardio-oncology, and heart failure management. Our experienced physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and state-of-the-art facilities ensure an efficient and pleasant work environment.
