Emergency Medical Technician Apprentice- August Class
Job Summary
Performs safe transport of non-emergent clients. Will receive on the job training for Medical Transport Driver and Emergency Medical Technician and required coursework for Emergency Medical Technician national certification. Emergency Medical Technician job training to include performing team-based care of the sick and injured and provides basic life support care to those requesting Emergency Medical Services response.
Job Duties
- Operates the emergency vehicle in compliance with the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code to ensure safe travel.
- Responsible for communication and coordination with communication center dispatchers, supervisors, and other leaders.
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment and vehicles and reports any deficiencies.
- Responsible for the accurate documentation of patient care and transportation.
- On the Job Training includes learning: Regulatory Requirements, Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation, Automated External Defibrillators, First Aid, Customer Service, Emergency Medical Technician Didactic Program, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Lifting, Moving, Transferring, Mass Casualty Incident, Prehospital Trauma Life Support, International Trauma Life Support, and Scan Emergence Medical Services.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
